Share Your Story
We love to feature stories and photos from our members! The Trail Journal is written for and about members, simply send in your photos and stories for a chance to be featured in upcoming issues.
Select members may be asked to join our Trail Explorers, members who are experts on the trail and are active members of the community here. These selected members can receive exclusive perks, like a free subscription to The Trail Journal, decals, featured mentions on our website, social media, and emails, and more!
Trail Explorers are active members of the HTA community who believe in what we stand for. These folks take time to share their stories, photos, and experience with us and we thank them for that. Like us, Trail Explorers believe trail riders should always explore new horizons, and that you should never stop searching for the next adventure. We believe freedom is found on the trail!
Why become a Trail Explorer?
Not only will you be inspiring other riders, but being a Trail Explorer comes with some great perks. These members can receive free subscriptions to The Trail Journal, exclusive access to Trail Explorer products, shoutouts on our social media, emails, website, and The Trail Journal, and more!
How do I become a Trail Explorer?
Trail Explorers are selected based on a list of criteria, but primarily due to their engagement in our community. You must be an active member on our website (5+ comments/posts per month) and submit content at least 3 times per year. If your content is selected and you're an active member you'll receive a free subscription to the Trail Journal along with other perks!
We recommend a headshot, lifestyle photo, and short bio in your profile on our website to increase your chances of being selected, but they aren't required.
Do I need to be a writer?
Trail Explorers don’t need to have degrees in writing or journalism, but they do have to have a passion for sharing their trail experiences, and knowledge (don't worry, we'll help you with the editing and can call and interview you for selected stories).
Do I need professional photos?
Not at all! You don’t have to be a professional photographer, but you do have to enjoy taking photos and sharing them with others. We require high-resolution photos (your iPhone will be perfect!) that we can share with the community.
